350th Anniversary of St Vincent de Paul – Monday, 27th September 2010 (Sept weekend)
We hope to get everyone involved in the preparation for the above celebration. We are considering the idea of a Family Fun Day with Bouncy Castle, Face Painting, Music, Stalls, Snacks, sports etc. We are looking for people to help. In consultation with Fr Pat we thought this would be a good opportunity to recognize his time spent here with us. With this in mind there will be a whole parish meeting on Tuesday 22nd June at 7.30 p.m.

The Parish of St Vincent de Paul. Many of you may know by now that I plan to retire at the end of this school term. I would like to take the opportunity to thank publicly those former pupils, their families and the many in the wider parish community who have offered their support over the last twenty years to myself and to the school community. What is achieved when the home, the school and the parish work together is reflected in the memorable services and service done and in the lives of the young people who so regularly reflect this. The parish community of St Vincent’s has always been a source of great encouragement to the school and the links between the school and the parish are well embedded. I have many happy memories of my years working with you all and these will sustain me greatly in the new future that is opening ahead of me. Again I give you my thanks and my best wishes for continuing good fortune and happiness. Liam Lindsay

Sunday 6th June Diocesan Pilgrimage Day to celebrate the Feast of the Body and Blood of Christ. This is a Procession and not a Mass.

Hello From Fr Ivan
I could not let my first weekend go by without introducing myself. I come here after 3 years as parish priest and hospital chaplain in St Thomas’ Wishaw. As you may have heard I am returning to ministry after being ill with PTSD from my ministry in the RAF (including Afghanistan and the Gulf) and Wishaw General. I am thankfully much better now and looking forward to my time here.
As you may also have heard I have a a large friendly German Shepherd called Kai who does bark when people come to the door but only because he assumes its people coming to play with him (he usually comes to say hello then goes as gets his toy). I have been very impressed by all those involved in helping in the parish and would like to say please continue after all we are a community of faith and I would like to encourage whatever I can. God Bless
